{"id":97946,"date":"2024-05-30T07:18:25","date_gmt":"2024-05-29T21:18:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=97946"},"modified":"2024-05-29T20:28:32","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T10:28:32","slug":"vacations-hit-the-road-for-world-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/living\/vacations-hit-the-road-for-world-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Vacations hit the road for world tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Vacations kickstarted their year with a performance at the Laneway Festival and have recently embarked on a world tour following the success of their third studio album.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The band are playing headline shows around the UK and Europe before returning to Australia where they will perform to crowds at the Torquay Hotel on July 3.New album <em>No Place Like Home<\/em> was released at the start of the year and has already had more than 30 million streams.<\/p>\n<p>Vacations drummer Joey Van Lier said the latest album has been a labour of love for the band.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve shared tears, hugs and a lot of laughter during the making of this bad boy and now I am beyond excited for us to finally be able to bring these songs to you for the NPLH World Tour,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The band formed in 2016, with their debut album <em>Vibes and Days<\/em> released the following year.<\/p>\n<p>Their song &#8220;Young<em>&#8221; <\/em>was part of the first album and is certified gold in Canada, Australia and Poland, as well as Platinum is the US.<\/p>\n<p>With their indie-rock style, the four-piece have previously sold out tours across the UK, Europe and North America.<\/p>\n<p>Vacations song writer and vocalist Campbell Burns moved to Los Angles almost a year ago and said this tour will be a special homecoming for him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited to see my family, friends, and my greyhound, Brock,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019ll be performing songs off our latest album <em>No Place Like Home<\/em>, as well as a curated setlist of our personal favourites and fan favourites.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019ll be some theatrics as well, which I\u2019m eager to pull off, but you\u2019ll have to come to a show to find out what that is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The band has appeared live on <em>The Jimmy Kimmel Show,<\/em> <em>CBS Saturday Morning<\/em> and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.<\/p>\n<p>Following their Australian shows, they&#8217;ll head over to North America.<\/p>\n<p>For tickets and more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/torquayhotel.com.au\"><strong>torquayhotel.com.au<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vacations kickstarted their year with a performance at the Laneway Festival and have recently embarked on a world tour following the success of their third studio album.
