{"id":97969,"date":"2024-05-30T04:00:44","date_gmt":"2024-05-29T18:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=97969"},"modified":"2024-05-29T20:49:55","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T10:49:55","slug":"surf-coast-times-torquay-cup-raises-funds-for-local-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/surf-coast-times-torquay-cup-raises-funds-for-local-charity\/","title":{"rendered":"Surf Coast Times Torquay Cup raises funds for local charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE 13th annual Surf Coast Times Torquay Cup set off on Friday last week as the community raised funds for All Aboard Disability.<\/p>\n<p>More than 300 patrons enjoyed the afternoon at the Geelong Racing Club, raising $10,000 to support the local charity.<\/p>\n<p>Funds raised for All Aboard Disability will go towards their new project, The Junction, a &#8216;one-stop shop&#8217;, offering a range of services for individuals with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>All Aboard Co-founder Kate Marshall said the charity felt extremely grateful to be receiving the money.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s all going towards the Junction and going into that fund to build upon, so it&#8217;s a really nice place to start.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It can really change things, big money like that can really help.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_136200\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-136200\" style=\"width: 601px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-136200 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/05\/IMG_0188-1024x768.jpg?_t=1716979372\" alt=\"\" width=\"601\" height=\"451\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-136200\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Times News Group managing director Warick Brown (left) encouraged guests to donate to the charity.
