THERE are just three weeks left to submit entries for the 2024 Geelong Business Excellence Awards, with the deadline set for July 12.<\/p>\n

This year, the awards feature 20 categories, including the newly introduced Employer of Choice Award.<\/p>\n

This new category recognises businesses that create workplaces maximising their employees’ full potential by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.<\/p>\n

City of Greater Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan said the council was thrilled to support the 38th edition of the 2024 Geelong Business Excellence Awards once again.<\/p>\n

“Local business success is a key driver of our economy and is critical to delivering the community’s vision for a clever and creative region,” Mr Sullivan said.<\/p>\n

“We’re committed to helping businesses in Greater Geelong to grow and thrive through training programs, networking events, economic data, investment facilitation, industry development and more.<\/p>\n

“To be named an Employer of Choice will be a massive coup for the successful business as it enhances their reputation and elevates their position to recruit, hire and retain the best people.”<\/p>\n

The Employer of Choice Award requires entrants to demonstrate achievements in several key areas, including organisational culture, leadership, professional development, training and development, and reward and recognition.<\/p>\n

“As the City prides itself as a collaborative and supportive place to grow and develop, this new category aligns with the organisation’s ambitions to be an employer of choice in the region,” Mr Sullivan said.<\/p>\n

The Geelong Business Excellence Awards are open to residents of Geelong & the Bellarine, Surf Coast, Queenscliff, Golden Plains area, and those within 40 kilometres of the Geelong city centre.<\/p>\n

The Employer of Choice Award is sponsored by the City of Greater Geelong.<\/p>\n
