ALWAYS wanted to try out four-wheel-driving but never had the opportunity? Well, a free event on this weekend could be for you.

The Ballarat and District 4WD Club is holding a come and try day at their purpose-built facility at Smythesdale. The site features a hill climbs, incline decent, moguls and bridge, rock and short water crossings.

In addition to driving the course there’ll be static displays, 4WD skills training, recovery techniques and camp cooking demonstrations along with a barbecue.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own rigs or be a passenger in a Club members’ car and experience the activity in a in a controlled and safe environment.

The event is set for Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March from 10am to 4pm at Wills Street, Smythesdale. For more information visit ballarat4wdclub.org.au.

The Ballarat and District 4WD Club is a family friendly organisation that promotes safe and sustainable 4WD. The club has monthly drives through the local bush, is affiliated with 4WD Victoria and subscribes to the tread lightly philosophy.
