Get ready for serious beard business
IT’S time to put the razor away, the Ballarat Beard & Stache Competition is on again.
Judged on May 29, the annual event celebrates beards and moustaches of all kinds, with several categories for flair with facial hair. With more than $1000 in prizes the Beard & Stache Competition is one not to be missed.
The competition is a favourite not only locally, but with those far and wide. Entrants head to the city each year to show off their well-groomed creations. Last year, a strong contingent of entrants were on show virtually.
Now we can gather safely and within COVID-19 guidelines, punters are invited to attend the competition in person at Hop Temple. This amazing venue, tucked down a laneway, ensures that this event promises good food, good beer and good beards, in one of the city’s most beautiful buildings in one of the most vibrant precincts.
Categories include Full Beard Natural (20cm to infinity), Full Beard Natural (10cm to 20cm), Verdi (styled, 10cm and under), Moustache and Partial Beard.
There will also be a Just For Fun (freestyle) category for ladies, gentleman and children who want to display their own creativity.
“We’re looking forward to coming back together, in person, to see some of the finest beards and moustaches on offer,” said organiser Brayden Dorney.
“Many used isolation last year as a prime opportunity to have a go at growing a mo, or a full face of hair. We hope to see a return of our favourite beards and staches as well as a new cohort of hairy individuals.”
