Meredith tickets snapped up

THOSE holding out on getting tickets to the 2024 Meredith Music Festival may be regretting that decision as the major regional arts event is now sold out.

Though festivalgoers have seen cancellation after cancellation of many anticipated annual offerings this year, the Meredith-based fest is showing no signs of slowing down, with the sell-out news announced early last week.

“Tickets to the Thirty Second Meredith Music Festival have now sold out. Went like hot cakes,” said a statement from organising group Aunty Meredith.

“We are very grateful to all who got ’em or tried to get ’em. Anyone still seeking tickets is invited to join Aunty’s waitlist via mmf.com.au.”

The Supernatural Amphitheatre, where both the Meredith Music Festival and the organisers’ other event Golden Plains Festival are held each year, is estimated to hold 12,500 people.

The ballot for this year’s Meredith Music Festival opened in mid-July, before the line-up’s announcement, with the first round available for existing subscribers and the second round opening sales up to new ones.

Organisers encouraged those looking to grab a resale ticket to do so via official channels.

“Aunty’s ticket resale service is the only authorised ticket resale facility,” the statement continued.

“Meredith is subject to a major event ticketing declaration under Part 9A of the Major Events Act 2009.

“This means it is an offence to sell, advertise or offer to resell a ticket for more than 10 per cent above its face value purchase price.”

Announced earlier this month, the lineup is boasting 30 acts with Jamie xx, Waxahatchee, and Genesis Owusu topping the bill of both Australian and international players.

Organisers encouraged festivalgoers to subscribe to the Golden Plains Festival mailing list to keep up to date on when the ballot for that event will open.

Meredith Music Festival is happening between 6 to 8 December.
