$49 million to Gambler’s Help
THE Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation has received forty-nine million dollars from the State government to roll out more regional and rural Gambler’s Help programs.
VRGF has 11 Gambler’s Help partners across 15 geographic areas of the state providing intervention, prevention and treatment services tailored to the individual needs of their local clients.
Minister for Gaming and Liquor Regulation, Marlene Kairouz said Ballarat’s Child and Family services will benefit from this funding injection, helping them provide gambling related counselling, and recruit and retain staff.
“A three-year funding allocation to Cafs will increase to more than $3 million,” she said.
VRGF was allocated $153 million, over four years, in the recent State budget.
