A chance to chat with local councillors
RESIDENTS and rate payers are being encouraged to attend Golden Plains Shire’s upcoming councillor listening posts.
The events provide a space where locals can speak with municipal representatives about their community, and any issues they have.
The next listening post will be held at on Saturday, 1 April from 6pm to 7.30pm, during the Linton Outdoor Movie Night at Linton Recreation Reserve.
“We had a really successful listening post at Inverleigh earlier this month, and we are looking forward to connecting with Linton residents to hear about issues and matters of importance to them,” Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said.
“Council is committed to engaging with all our local communities and we want to people to share their ideas and concerns with us in their local areas.
“These listening posts are a great way to connect with councillors directly, and we are travelling across the Shire… to give people the opportunity to share their views.”
Other listening posts are Bannockburn’s on Saturday, 7 October, 9.30am to 11am at Golden Plains Farmers Market, and Smythesdale’s on Saturday, 18 November, 10am to 11.30am at the Smythesdale Country Market.
