LINTON-based sculptor Lyn Lambeth will be sharing her practice as part of the Take Part Local Art series next month.
The two-part workshop will be held at the Bannockburn Library on Saturday 7 June and Saturday 17 June from 9am until noon.
The workshop will focus on recycling, and participants can build on a wire frame base using recycled materials to bring it to life as a bird or other creature.
“I just provide a bit of an introduction and then one-on-one training afterwards,” Lambeth said.
“There’s no particular technique, they can use what I suggest, or they can make up something else that’s in their imagination.
“It’s all up to them.”
Lambeth was inspired to begin creating sculptures following her experiences in Darwin, where she saw plastics in the ocean and on remote beaches.

She said she hopes the workshops create dialogues around environmental protection.
“It’s just to spark conversations about what it’s doing to the birds and marine life too,” she said.
“I just wanted to do something different, and birds were an obvious choice because I have been watching the accumulation of plastic in albatross and other seabirds.”
Lambeth thanked Golden Plains Shire for its support.
All supplies are provided, but participants will be welcome to bring further materials to incorporate in their work.
