BARBEQUE ON THE HILL
IF your looking for something to do inbetween all the daytime activities and the fireworks on Australia Day, the Golden Point/ Mount Pleasant community has an option for you.
From 6.30pm on 26 January there’ll be a community barbeque at the Jack Greville Parklands.
Attendees are invited to bring their own food and drinks while organisers will supply the barbeque as the site is the location of an ongoing tussle over a missing community asset, namely a public barbeque.
The event is one of two community organiser Peter Willis said are planned annually with the other being Eureka Day.
Jack Greville Parklands runs along Magpie Street, with the site of the event being near the intersection with Bourke and Gladstone streets.
