Baroness in Ballarat talking ‘screen time’

June 5, 2019 BY

BALLARAT Innovation and Research Collaboration for Health will host Baroness Susan Greenfield tomorrow, Friday 7 June, as she presents a lecture on screen time and its effect on the mind.

Attendees can listen to the UK’s internationally renowned neuroscientist speak about the dangers of prolonged screen time, its impact and how consumers can protect themselves from 5.30pm in the St John of God Hospital Atrium.

Baroness Greenfield said public opinion of the topic has adjusted in the last five years, and there is more cynicism and concern than before.

“The biggest shift in the current mindset is towards one trapped as never before in the present, needing constant stimulation and input from the immediate, external world. What might be the solution?”

Entry is by a gold coin which will be donated to Rosemary Aldrich’s team of the Ballarat Foundation’s Dancing with our Stars fundraiser.
