SUMMER Sundays, the popular music, food and drink feast getting underway on the first Sunday in January, is being co-headlined by Ballarat’s own Meraki Minds.

The Indie pop band members, who met at high school, have built a firm fan base in the city and around Melbourne.

On stage also will be Melbourne based pop rock singer-songwriter, Ali Barter singing and playing what is often described as “compelling music with a presence.”

Run by the City of Ballarat, organisers have committed to showcasing the city’s artists at the Sunday events with 50 per cent of the performers home grown.

The Botanical Gardens, again the venue for the laid-back afternoon series, offers the opportunity to relax and enjoy the music on picnic rugs or settle into the Bean Bag Lounge.

Food and drink will be close at hand with the support of Blue Pyrenees Estate Winery and Kilderkin Distillery and delicious bites from street food vendor.
