Former Federation University Associate Professor Bob O’Shea will take on the top job, replacing 19-year board veteran Mark Schultz.

Mr O’Shea retired from FedUni in 2018 after 17 years with the higher education institution. His last role was the executive dean of the Faculty of Business, which includes Federation Business School.

He’s also worked leadership and executive management roles in the telecoms, oil and gas, water, tourism and higher education sectors.

During Mr Schultz’s near two decades with BGT he spent 14 years as board chair and oversaw significant growth in the organisation.

In the 2020 annual report BGT CEO Graham McMahon acknowledged Mr Schultz’s service.

“Mark has played a pivotal part in BGT jobs & Training for many years, as a board member for 19 and as chairman for the last 14 years,” he said.

“Mark has been the governance guru, the wise head, and a constant in our changing business environment. His knowledge in this sector will be missed. But we know he won’t be too far away.”
