Big award opportunity for small business
BERRINGA-based Rebel Equestrian has been announced as a finalist in the Australian Small Business Champion Awards.
More than 5500 businesses entered the awards which aim to recognise the most outstanding small businesses in Australia.
Sarah and Toby Billing run the equestrian centre along with their children Sophie and Oliver, and Mr Billing said their approach to horsemanship is what sets them apart from other businesses.
“We’re obviously very excited to be recognised with the award,” he said.
“I think it’s recognising that we have a bit of a different approach to training horses and we’re very passionate about improving the horse world.
“We use a kind and gentle approach to training horses.”
The centre was opened last year, and Mr Billing said they are hoping to expand the business to accommodate more clients and horses.
“We are hoping to take on horses that need a bit of work and make them really safe horses for kids,” he said.
“We just want to get the word out to more people and help more horses.”
The award winners are set to be announced at a ceremony in Sydney in April.
