Big role filled for health service
GRAMPIANS Health has appointed public health specialist Dr Rob Grenfell as their chief strategy and regions officer.
Dr Grenfell will oversee the effectiveness and delivery of recently merged service’s healthcare models, and CEO Dale Fraser said he is a great addition to the team.
“Rob has been integral to our COVID response regionally as a public health physician specialist in our Grampians Public Health Unit since 2021, and now we’ll be putting his strategic public health experience to use,” he said.
“Rob’s extensive experience in government, not-for-profit and private sectors, and his personal connection to the Grampians region makes him the ideal leader to foster innovation and collaboration across our organisation and ensure a whole-of-service approach to meet the needs of our community.”
Local to the Western Districts, Dr Grenfell will be based in Horsham, and his position is effective from Monday, 30 May.
With previous experience at CSIRO, the Heart Foundation, and the State’s Department of Health, Dr Grenfell said he will ensure that Grampians Heath services are accessible across the region.
“My priority coming into this new organisation is to work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we have a whole-of-service approach to healthcare and the services we provide,” he said.
“We will not be focusing or centralising our work to one particular area but ensuring that people in the Grampians region have equitable access to health no matter which of our locations they attend.”
