AS part of its inaugural Women’s Business Month, Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council are running a series of free online workshops titled Money-Minded Training.

BRMC is inviting women managing enterprises or running a household to join the series of Thursday morning sessions exploring areas like superannuation, avoiding debt traps, and any topics participants would like to see covered.

Stepping Stones to Small Business Ballarat coordinator Deborah Klein said the workshops are designed for women wanting to know more about controlling their money, and those needing any specific financial areas explained or clarified.

“Presented as part of our 2021 Women’s Business Month, these Money-Minded sessions are designed to explore and help answer your questions about your money and how to better manage it,” Ms Klein said.

“Whether you are a woman in business, thinking about business, managing the business of a household, or just needing to get a grasp on your finances, these sessions are for you.”

The superannuation workshop will be an introduction to the basics of super and how retirement savings can be best maximised if you’re mindful of super early on.

The debt-trap avoidance session will explore credit and how to best to keep away from a situation where a gained debt can be hard to ever fully repay, if at all.

The first Money-Minded Training session was held last Thursday, 9 September on budgeting and saving, helping participants gain a grasp of making and sticking to a budget, and setting smart, achievable saving goals for success.

The sessions will run until Thursday, 30 September from 10am to 11.30am. Each workshop will be facilitated on Zoom. Those wishing to participate need to register via moneymindedballarat.eventbrite.com.
