Business directory continues to grow
THE fourth annual edition of the Bannockburn and District Chamber of Commerce’s business directory is set to be unveiled with a launch event next month.
The event at Bannockburn Cultural Centre at 5.30pm on Wednesday 3 July will mark the release of the latest guide on the region’s businesses and organisations.
Bannockburn and District Chamber of Commerce president Bronwyn Davie said the launch will serve primarily as a networking opportunity.
“We like to have this as a networking night to bring our businesses together,” she said. “We have two really popular nights each year between this and our bowls night.
“This is our most significant event though that a lot of people attend to see the new book. We usually get between 50 to 60 people attending.
“Any prospective members can come along. This isn’t just for our members only.”
With between 70 to 80 businesses and organisations featured in this year’s directory, the guide is set to be delivered free to 4000 homes across Bannockburn, Inverleigh, Teesdale, Lethbridge, Maude, Meredith, and Batesford.
Copies will also be available at participating shopping and medical centres.
Ms Davie said the scope of the directory has expanded beyond simply adding more businesses.
“The directory originally came following COVID because we wanted people to have something in their houses where they could look up local businesses for whatever they needed,” she said.
“We’ve put more local news and stories about the different community organisations around in there too this year so it’s not just businesses advertising themselves.
“Hopefully that’s something that will continue to grow.
“Last year we actually launched our online directory so what’s in the book has been mirrored on our webpage so we’ll be showing that for the first time as well.”
