SENIORS and members of the local all-abilities communities, along with their friends, families, and supporters and being asked to join a Golden Plains Shire committee.

Known as the Active Ageing and Inclusion Advisory Group and run by the Shire, the body is seeking members who’ll advise on and oversee the municipal Active Ageing and Inclusion Plan 2020-2024.

The plan directs how the Shire aims to make Golden Plains accessible for all community members and visitors.

“By volunteering your time to council’s Active Ageing and Inclusion Advisory Group, you are contributing to a more inclusive and accessible Golden Plains for all,” said mayor Cr Gavin Gamble.

“The Active Ageing and Inclusion Advisory Group provides valuable insight to council on issues affecting people with all abilities in Golden Plains.

“Council is looking forward to ongoing consultation with the advisory group and I would strongly encourage relevant community members to nominate themselves.”

To apply to join the group, interested people will need to go through an expression of interest process.

Applications are open until Friday, 9 December and for more information visit the Shire’s website or head to a municipal customer service centre at Bannockburn and Smythesdale.
