ORGANISERS of next year’s Smart Living Expo in Buninyong are looking for exhibitors.

The event is set to take place on Sunday 25 February and aims to gather the local community to educate and motivate them about sustainable practices.

The event has been running for a decade and last year it attracted more than 1800 attendees and 80 stallholders.

Sites at the expo range in price from free to $60.

“It’s all about community education on sustainable living from building to carbon offsets, energy efficient products, green waste and growing your own food,” said Justin Weyers, creative director of the expo.

“We’re just trying to educate the community as much as we can.”

This year’s expo will feature an event on Friday 23 February which is designed to kick off the weekend by creating conversation about sustainability.

“On the Friday night we are adding a launch event called Back to Buninyong and it’s all about the community coming together,” said Mr Weyers.

“They’ll be music, guest speakers and a short film called Regenerating Australia.”

Other new features include a live stage with demonstrations and stalls related to health and wellbeing.

“There are four genres which are building, innovation, environment and health,” said My Weyers.

“This year we are really pushing into health, so we are looking for any vendors out there who have products related to physical health, mental health or sporting in the community.

“It’s about showing the community what is out there and engaging them as much as possible.”
