Car show to host Holden reveal
AN unreleased vehicle is set to be the main attraction at an upcoming event for car lovers.
Holden Prototype Unveiling Car Show organiser David Gamble said the featured vehicle will be a one-off attraction.
“This is to bring this car out of hibernation that’s never been seen before,” he said. “It’s actually come from Sydney and the private owners live in Ballarat.
“This is a prototype from Holden, a design they were going to mass-produce but they pulled the pin on it. As far as we know, this is the only one in Australia.
“I’m looking forward to unveiling this car so the public can actually see it for a change. It’s a one-off car.
“The owners wants to reveal it so they can start taking it to more shows.”
Entry to the car show will cost a gold coin donation, with the event to take place at Delacombe Town Centre.
A member of the Day Breakers Automobile Club of Victoria, Mr Gamble’s previous events include the Ballarat Beat Car Show and an attraction during last year’s Heritage Festival at Bridge Mall.
He said he hopes at least 100 cars take part.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia Ballarat Sub-Branch.
“My dad’s a Vietnam veteran so this is a bit of support for those guys that served,” Mr Gamble said.
“This’ll be a family day as well. Everyone’s invited, and if you’ve got a car to show, bring it.”
The Holden Prototype Unveiling Car Show takes place on Sunday, 26 February at the Autobarn carpark at DTC from 10am to 3pm, with the unveiling at 12pm.
