CARNGHAM-Linton Football Netball Club have some goals to kick this season, and beyond, but need some funds to get there.

The club is running a goods and services auction in July, which revenue director Cameron Haines said will generate funds to support a priority project.

“We’re going to partly fund a new electronic scoreboard at the Linton ground, which will benefit all the community, as it can be used for school sport events and even bushfire notifications,” he said.

“We want to improve the broader infrastructure and facilities for our club, and make the club more attractive, particularly for our wonderful juniors, who we have a lot of.

“Supporting them is vital. These kids coming through are the future of our club, and there is some real talent there in footy and netball that will hold the club in good stead for a long time to come.”

Mr Haines said anyone who has the means to donate a product, service or experience that can be auctioned off is encouraged to contribute.

“We’ve already had offers of gravel deliveries, a couple of members have provided weekends away at their apartments, one lady has provided a baby pack with a knitted blanket, booties and toys, and others are donating wine and cheese.

“You could offer lawnmowing, or meal vouchers. Anything that could raise at least $30 or even $100 is helpful, and the ideas are endless,” he said.

With the slogan, ‘the west is ours,’ the club is encouraging people living just west of Ballarat to join their sporting community, and asks businesses in the area to consider becoming sponsors.

“We would love them to come to us. We are their local club,” Mr Haines said.
