ARGH, me hearties! Consider spending the school holidays at Kryal Castle, or you could be walking the plank.

The medieval-themed destination’s Pirates and Mermaids in Ballarat program is now on until Sunday 28 January, and families are invited to attend in costume.

As part of the program, children can be trained in swashbuckling, head off on treasure hunts and create their own treasure map and chest, watch The Quest for Captain Red Beard’s Treasure pantomime, and see knights joust on the behalf of Bobert the Dreadful and Captain No Beard.

Characters will be meeting and greeting families, and kids can have their photo taken with them all, including Neptuna the mermaid.

“Promising to be a treasure trove of incredible activities and entertainment, Kryal Castle’s Pirates and Mermaids is not to be missed,” said Kryal Castle CEO Bart Hamilton.

Pirate and mermaid-inspired snacks and drinks are being served, and visitors could also win prizes in a costume parade.

There are creatures to meet and pat, with the yard’s pens full of furry animals including goats and sheep. Visit bit.ly/41igtE9 for tickets.
