Celebrating the region’s carers
TO celebrate National Carers Week, Golden Plains Shire officers are hosting a series of free events.
National Carers Week runs from Sunday 13 to Saturday 19 October and aims to recognise the dedication and compassion of unpaid carers who support loved ones.
This year’s theme is ‘millions of reasons to care’ and free events will be held at Smythesdale, Dereel and Bannockburn.
“These events are a wonderful way to for us to show our appreciation and gratitude to the carers in Golden Plains, whose ongoing commitment makes a lasting impact on our community,” said Golden Plains Shire Council CEO Shane Walden.
A cuppa and craft lunch will be held at The Well in Smythesdale, at Dereel there will be lunch at the community hall, and a lunch followed by ‘sewcial arts’ and crafts will be on at Bannockburn Cultural Centre.
