Children’s Week fun for the whole family
TO celebrate Children’s Week, a free family fun day will be held in Bannockburn next month.
The event on Monday 21 October from 10am until 12pm at Bannockburn Library and Cultural Centre will include face painting, crafts, story time, roving performers, YMCA Gymnastics, Jacques Dance Studio and more.
There will be a free bus available to community members in Haddon, Smythesdale, Rokewood and Meredith.
Golden Plains Shire CEO Shane Walden encouraged residents to come along.
“There is a fantastic variety of activities for children of all ages to enjoy and we encourage everyone to come along and get involved,” he said.
“Children’s Week is a wonderful celebration that highlights the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children and council’s children’s week event aims to provide children from across the Shire the opportunity to connect, share and engage in activities that support their wellbeing and healthy development.”
Children’s week is held nationally every October to recognise the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children.
This year, it is on from Saturday 19 October until Sunday 27 October with the theme ‘children have the right to a clean and safe environment.’
Bookings are essential and must be made by Monday 7 October by calling 03 5220 7230 or emailing [email protected].
