THE Victorian State Ballet is bringing their production of Cinderella to the Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts this Sunday.

Featuring a strong cast of leading classical artists, VSB is hoping to entertain a full auditorium with exhilarating, impactful, striking and inspiring dancing.

Michelle Cassar de Sierra is VSB’s Assistant Director, and Cinderella’s Artistic Director and Choreographer. She has designed the show’s movement to be full of virtue, sensibility, grace, intrigue and outstanding skill.

“The audience can expect to see a beautiful version of the ballet that truly tells the story as we all know and love it,” she said.

“The ballet is choreographed to the hauntingly beautiful score of Prokofiev, which is composed for Cinderella.”

Melbourne’s Alana Puddy is dancing the leading role of Cinderella, having trained at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. Since joining the VSB, Puddy has performed solo and principal roles in Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, the Nutcracker, Don Quixote and Magic Toy Shop.

Alongside her as The Prince is William Douglas, a former graduate of the Macdonald College, Sydney. The adaptable contemporary and classical dancer joined VSB in 2017, dancing in Le Corsaire, Swan Lake, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Nutcracker.

Tickets for Cinderella are available at wcpa.com.au/events.aspx. It will play this Sunday, 28 July at 2.30pm at the Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts, 1220 Howitt Street, Wendouree.
