Club’s seniors, juniors buddy up
CARNGHAM-Linton Football Netball Club hosted a Buddy Day during their home games against Waubra last Saturday at Linton Recreation Reserve.
Under 12 and 15 football players, and netball players in under 13 A and B and under 15 were paired up with a senior player who offered support and mentorship during their warm-ups and matches.
“Buddy Day lets parents know we are committed as a senior body and want to help build our juniors and be more competitive,” said CLFNC football director Mel Scoble.
“They warm up together, after the game the seniors present the kids with a game day ball, they chat and offer encouragement, and can continue to offer advice throughout the season. It works really well.”
Buddy Round took place as part of CHFNL round 11.
