Comedy trio coming to Ballarat
MELBOURNE-BASED comedy troupe Sooshi Mango are bringing their zany characters and satirical humour to Civic Hall this August as part of the additional leg of their Off the Boat national tour.
With the tour expanding from seven shows to 38, member Joe Salanitri said the group is keen to introduce themselves to Ballarat.
“We can’t wait. We love coming to regional towns because they really appreciate us being there. We tried to get to Ballarat on our first leg but couldn’t make it unfortunately,” he said.
“I’ve been to Ballarat a few times when I was a kid so to be able to come back and actually put on a show there, it’s exciting for us.
“Regional places, they get the humour just as well as the major cities so it’s an honour to come down and perform at Ballarat for the first time.”
The audience can expect to see popular Sooshi Mango characters and skits as the trio pokes fun at the ethnic Australian experience.
With the Ballarat gig coming off an extended string of shows, Salanitri said their road-tested set is “humming perfectly” a head of the Civic Hall performance.
“It’s a very nice, tight show. All the jokes have been tweaked and fixed and moved. You also find new little jokes as the tour grows,” he said.
“We’re finding new little golden nuggets as we go along, so that means Ballarat and all the other places are getting the best version of this show that anyone’s seen.”
Sooshi Mango will perform at Civic Hall on Wednesday, 10 August.
Tickets range from $69.90 to VIP packages for $199.90, and can be purchased via bit.ly/37EPScS.
