Councillors ready to listen up
THE next of Golden Plains Shire’s listening posts will be on at Bannockburn in October.
The session, two of which were also held at Linton and Inverleigh earlier this year, aims to give residents an opportunity to talk to councillors about any issues they may have with the municipality.
This listening post will be held on Saturday 7 October from 9.30am until 11am at Golden Plains Farmers market.
Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham urged the community to visit the market and share their perspectives.
“I encourage community members to stop by and have a chat to engage with myself and other councillors about issues that are important to them,” he said.
“We’re also keen to update the community on council projects, recent decisions and upcoming activities.
“These listening posts are a great way for us to converse with local residents and gain a better understanding of what’s happening in the community and how we can advocate on issues that matter to them.”
There will be another listening post in Smythesdale’s on Saturday 18 November from 10am to 11.30am at the Smythesdale Country Market.
