Creative wandering on the Plains
A NEW book highlighting the Golden Plains Shire’s arts culture scene is set for launch next week.
Titled Creative Wanderings, it features work and information on 20 artists or studios, six festivals and seven community art groups.
It also includes info on how people can get involved with the Shire’s arts scene.
“This publication will serve as a great resource within the Shire, as well as promoting our creative sector throughout Victoria,” said Shire mayor, Cr Owen Sharkey.
Five-hundred copies of the book will be sent to arts studios, wineries and accommodation across Golden Plains, with others placed throughout regional Victoria. Resident will also be able to request copies.
Production of Creative Wanderings was funded by the municipality and it’s taken nine months to produce.
The official launch is set for 10.30am on Thursday, 19 December at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre’s Youth Lounge at 27 High Street. A morning tea is also on offer.
Along with the launch, representatives from Golden Plains Shire will make an announcement on new plans to support the region’s creatives over the next few years.
RSVP for catering purposes at the launch are advised on [email protected] or 5220 7212 by Monday, 16 December.
