RESIDENTS from Linton and around the Shire are gathering at the Linton Community Hub to share a love of art.

The Linton Goldbrush Painters gather every Friday from 10am and they are inviting more members of the community to join the initiative.

“This is for whoever wants to come, it doesn’t matter your skill level,” said group member Bev Harris.

“We’ve got beginners to semi-professionals and it’s any medium with whatever you want to use.”

Participants must bring their own supplies and the class does not involve specific teaching but is about enjoying painting no matter the skill level.

For people who may be getting started, group members are happy to advise on what materials to bring.

“It’s not a teaching class, but for people to come and enjoy a bit of social interaction,” said Harris.

“Although if anyone wants help, they can ask and there are people there who can help.”

Harris said the aim of the initiative is to bring the community together.

“When you live out in a rural town, it’s really a place to get together,” she said.

“If you don’t want to paint, you can come and have a cuppa and chat.”
