GARDENS galore will be open in Creswick for a once a year sneak peak of nature in all its glory.

Creswick Garden Lovers Weekend will have 10 private gardens and seven commercial gardens and nurseries open to the public over the second weekend in November.

The gardens cover a gamut of styles and plants and many will be hosting additional events.

Vention Cottage has an informal garden planted with shade lover’s hellebores and hostas as well as roses and salvias for the sunny patches.

Creswick artists Diane Lehne will be exhibiting her floral paintings in the garden’s studio.

“I was gobsmacked when the owners asked me to set up a display as they are artists themselves,” Ms Lehne said. “I’ve painted watercolours of not just of flowers but also cottages and other bits and bobs.

“I think the range of gardens that are open is astounding, it’s like being in another country and is so inspiring.”

Daylesford & Hepburn Springs CWA Branch will be serving Devonshire teas at Thyme Cottage in Eganstown.

The cottage which sat in a paddock two years ago is now surrounded by a series of garden rooms including 24 wicking vegetable beds.

Yeramba is a boutique farm stay retreat situated on 45 acres surrounded natural bushland with rustic country style décor dotted throughout the garden.

A large outdoor fire pit, surrounded by seating and ornamental pear trees, is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the refreshments on offer.

Creswick Garden Club is also presenting a flower and home crafts show at the Town Hall.

Creswick Garden Lovers Weekend is on Saturday, 9 November from 9am to 5pm and Sunday, 10 November from 9am to 4pm

Private garden entry is $5 per garden for adults with children free.
