Daffodil Day Appeal needs volunteers

July 17, 2019 BY

DAFFODILS are a bright addition to a spring garden.

They are also the symbol of community involvement for Cancer Council Victoria during its Daffodil Day Appeal in August, culminating in Daffodil Day on Friday, 23 August.

The Cancer Council is calling on the community to participate by volunteering to sell daffodil pins and fresh daffodils to help raise funds for life-saving research.

This year the appeal celebrates 33 years of turning Australia yellow with a target to raise more than $800,000 and to recruit more than 1,600 volunteers. The organisation works across every aspect of cancer, helping give more than hope to everyone affected by cancer.

It supports families affected by cancer when they need it most, speak out on behalf of the community on cancer issues, empower people to reduce their cancer risk, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.
