Date set for White Night
THE Ballarat leg of the hugely popular White Night events now has a confirmed date. Saturday, 21 September will see the city and its buildings lit up as part of the visual art spectacular.
Last year over 60,000 people turned out to view the illuminations, including and estimated 15,000 not from Ballarat.
A State government spokesperson said the economic boost the local economy was said to be around the $5 million mark in 2018.
Member for Buninyong Michaela Settle said she was excited to see what this year’s event would offer.
“Ballarat is renowned for putting on a great show and each year White Night Ballarat gets bigger and better,” she said. “I can’t wait to see what this year’s event holds.”
The Ballarat leg of White Night is one of four across the state, with an expanded threeday event set for Melbourne and other regional showings to be held in Geelong and Bendigo.
