ONE Humanity Shower Bus volunteers are looking for people to dig deep this holiday season and donate to a good cause.

The organisation is looking for donations of women’s shorts and tee shirts size 14 to 18, men’s shorts and tee shirts size medium to extra, extra-large, and thongs, razors, body wash, conditioner, toilet paper, sunscreen and shaving cream.

All toiletries must be unused and all clothing should be in good condition.

Promotions officer Fiona Barnett said these items can make a huge difference to the lives of people who use the Shower Bus.

“The premise of the Shower Bus itself is about dignity and whether that means the shower or being able to get some product,” she said.

“It can make life so much easier because if you are sleeping rough you know there is something there for you.”

Heading into Christmas, which can stretch families’ budgets, donations of products can ease some of the stress.

“For families doing it tough, they know their dollars will stretch that little bit further because that can get some shampoo, some body wash and conditioner to help out their family budget,” said Ms Barnett.

“That can be substantial money which can be better spent.”

Goods can be dropped off Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm until 8pm and Sundays from 5pm until 7pm outside 132 Doveton Street South.

Small donations can also be made at the UFS 24-hour pharmacy and people with large donations can contact the organisation to arrange pick up.
