VISUAL arts student, Kyra Drummond sold her first painting last year, exhibiting in Oxygen College’s Certificate III graduation show.

As this work, Modern Woman went to its new home, she had a special idea.

“This made me realise that I could start selling my work and reach a larger audience,” Drummond said.

With a strong passion for art that stems back as long as she can remember, KYARTS was launched, producing limited edition prints and cards of Drummond’s paintings and pastel works.

Backed by support workers and friends, she took KYARTS for its first outing in November.

SpringFest at Lake Wendouree played host to the enterprise’s first market setup and really got the stall ball rolling.

The business is growing naturally with exposure at other events like the Gordon Community Fair and Queenscliff Twilight Market, so Drummond is excited that she gets to create more original work to share more often with new admirers and collectors.

“My goal is to have more market stalls and start selling my work online. The thing I love about being an artist is the opportunity to express myself and make new art,” she said.
