New vision for Eureka Mums

A NEW strategic direction has been announced for family support charity Eureka Mums.

CEO Ruth Holdaway said the organisation has reviewed their Eureka, St Kilda, and Geelong Mums operations and conducted community consultation in creating their Vision for 2030.

“From humble beginnings, the time has now come for us to expand our impact and make a lasting difference to the lives of children today and in the future across Victoria and beyond,” she said.

“Our new strategy focuses on children who need our help in the first 2000 days of life, so children up to the age of six. We’ve set some ambitious goals.

“By 2030, we will reach every Victorian child up to the age of six that needs our help, ensure there is far less waste going into landfill by upcycling, reusing and reducing waste, and start to share our service beyond Victoria.”

Eureka Mums launched a larger local warehouse in Sebastopol in 2021, however earlier this year Ms Holdaway announced that the facility would soon close.

The city would not be getting a replacement, but would be serviced by warehouses in Melbourne and Geelong. This decision is unchanged.

“We’d like to reassure everyone again… we will continue to provide a service to all the children that need our help, and we will expand this service to reach more families in need,” she said.

“In the coming weeks we will be sharing further details about these changes, but for now the [Ballarat] warehouse remains open and we very much hope you will continue to support us.”
