A NEW workshop series is aiming to help individuals, enterprises, and community groups challenge their thinking and processes, and encourage positive development.

The free Expand Your Impact series will be held online, delivered by Make a Change in partnership with the Golden Plains Shire, connecting participants with networks of likeminded people and resources to assist them in reaching set goals.

Golden Plains Shire coordinator community development Renee Williams said it’s all about supporting changemakers, community leaders, and volunteers to succeed, regardless of their financial backing.

“The workshops will cover six topics, with a different topic delivered each session; vision, exploring what lights you up, projects and how to make them happen, creating your compelling narrative, team and building networks, growing communities and enlisting support, people and how to work together effectively, and digital tools,” she said.

“The Expand Your Impact workshops are a fantastic opportunity for Golden Plains residents to develop new skills and discover practical solutions in a fun and friendly format.

“I would encourage anyone who wants to do more, learn more, connect and generally be more effective, to register to attend the first workshop series which will be held weekly.”

Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Gavin Gamble said anyone keen to upskill in any area of their life is encouraged to take part.

“This program is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and build, and provides residents and businesses with new skills and useful approaches and strategies to boost efficiency and effectiveness and make an impact whether for themselves personally, for their business, or for the entire community,” he said.

The six-week series of workshops will be delivered twice, initially from Wednesday, 19 October to Wednesday, 23 November, from 10.30am to 12pm, and from Tuesday, 21 February to Tuesday, 28 March, from 6 to 7pm.
