HELP is being provided for those hoping to set up microbusiness or small to medium enterprise in Ballarat with Runway and Ballarat Group Training hosting a free open day next Thursday.

The event is a way for locals to connect with service providers and professionals in the region, as well as learn about the help that is available to start a business.

As part of the open day there’ll be free access to a hot desk, 30-miniute mentoring sessions with the managing director of Runway Linda Wong, and networking drinks event.

Consultants will also be available to talk about topics including financial, legal, marketing, training, and general services.

“We’ve noticed a needed thing is for people to have a place they can go to the one spot and make connections so they can get access to ask questions,” Ms Wong said.

“We ran an open day back in October and the feedback was quite good, so we thought we’d have another run at it.

“I hope people get a feel for who they can connect to in the region for additional support.”

Ms Wong said she encourages people to come along even if they may be apprehensive about starting their own business or seeking advice.

“The open day is meant to be a friendly atmosphere,” she said. “I think it would be great for people to come along even if they just have an idea and aren’t sure if they want to set up a business.

“It’s a great way to connect with other likeminded people.”

The event will be held from 3pm until 5pm on Thursday, March 30 at Runway Ballarat and to register head to runwayhq.co.
