A FAREWELL dinner was held for Federation University Chancellor Dr Paul Hemming last week at the Mt Helen campus.

Dr Hemming first took a seat at the university’s council table in 2007, back when it was the University of Ballarat, and took the top job in 2012.

During that time he oversaw University’s name change in 2014 and expanded the institution’s reach into Gippsland, by taking on parts of Monash University and GippsTafe.

Since then Federation University has established new campuses in Berwick and Brisbane, and the university has undergone significant transformation.

Dr Hemming was appointed Chair of the Federation University Australia Foundation in 2012 and became Patron in 2016.
