IN partnership with the Art Gallery of Ballarat, Federation University Arts Academy is inviting budding and experienced artists to challenge what interests them creatively.

A five-hour weekday portfolio development workshop will be facilitated by FedUni and the Gallery later this month, running online due to COVID-19 restrictions, and welcoming any artist to participate.

“This workshop takes you through the process of gathering inspiration and transforming your observations to create ideas for artworks,” A Federation University Arts Academy spokesperson said.

“Throughout the day you will transform your observations into artworks exploring a variety of materials and techniques including drawing, printmaking and sculpture.”

Young people planning to study art and develop their practice in VCE, especially via studio arts, may find the workshop helpful, as well as those looking to enter further education in the visual arts.

The workshop would also be appropriate for those interested in, or studying, Federation University Arts Academy’s Bachelor of Visual Arts which includes contemporary studio art practice, painting and drawing, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture, media technologies, and more.

The folio development workshop will run from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday, 22 September.

Register at bit.ly/3liNefP before the end of Tuesday, 21 September. General admission is free for participants.
