SENIORS in Golden Plains Shire are invited to escape the chilly weather at a community session in Bannockburn.
Held at Bannockburn Cultural Centre on Monday 30 June, the Escape the Cold event will include a gentle movement class, a creative project, a warm meal, and a complimentary gift bag.
The activities will be facilitated by the Golden Plains Shire community inclusion team.
A Shire spokesperson said the event is structured to foster connections and boost wellbeing.
“The Escape the Cold event is designed to support older people in our community to create social connection and support daily healthy and active living throughout the colder months,” they said.
“The low impact movement session caters for people of all abilities and assists in keeping the body warm through movement.
“There’s also a collaborative creative session based around how to keep warm during the colder months and the potential hazards and risks of colder weather.”
A similar event will be held at Smythesdale on Tuesday 1 July.
Limited transport is available, and bookings to the free event are essential. To book, visit the Golden Plains Shire website.
