Get the word on writing from local authors
BANNOCKBURN Library and a local publisher are set to be part of Geelong Regional Libraries’ upccoming Local Word Writers’ Festival.
A somantic writing workshop is set for Saturday 25 August at Bannockburn Library, looking at how to engage with the senses. This will be hosted by Kim Sargent-Wishart.
On Sunday 25 August, Berringa’s own ‘Rural Copywriter’ and owner of The Rural Publishing Company, Sarah Walkerden will take part in a free panel discussion, Decoding The Publishing Industry, at Geelong Regional Library and Heritage Centre, which will also feature editor and writing coach Liz Monument, published poet Alex Creece and Victorian Premier’s Award nominated author Abbey Lay. This will be chaired by author Jen Kloester.

Writers and readers are encouraged to take part in the annual Local Word fest which runs from next Friday 23 August to Sunday 25 August across GRL’s sites, and features authors and presenters from across the greater Geelong region.
