MORE than seventy thousand dollars has been raised for Grampians Health through the annual Adroit Insurance and Risk Charity Golf Day.

Held late last month, golfers teed off to raise funds for infant resuscitation cots to be used in the health service’s emergency department and operating theatres.

GH CEO Dale Fraser said the money will help boost capabilities at places like the Ballarat Base Hospital.

“We currently have 10 of these cots across the hospital, and we are working to replace all of them over the coming years,” he said.

“This will help our staff provide the most consistent and highest level of care to our youngest patients.

“Last year at Grampians Health Ballarat, 1299 babies were born, with 18 per cent requiring active resuscitation.

“While this statistic is lower than the state average, it does speak to the importance of these cots as an essential piece of life-saving equipment.”

The game day’s ladies’ trophy was taken by the Bohan Cleaning team with the men’s trophy going to players from Haymes Paints.

The event earnings were matched by GH’s fundraising arm Ballarat Health Services Foundation.
