YOU may have heard of pollies in the pub, well now it’s time for the Golden Plains equivalent as Saturday, 20 February sees the first iteration of Coffee with your Councillors.

The Shirewide event will see all seven freshly minted couniclors fan out across the municipality with the aim of hearing from as many people as possible.

One of the key aims of the first Coffee with your Councillors session is so the elected officials can get feedback on both the Council and Municipal Health and Wellbeing plans.

“During the recent council election, many residents told us they want more opportunities to speak directly with their elected councilors and we hope community members will stop by and have a chat with us on Saturday, 20 February,” said mayor Cr Helena Kirby

“The Coffee with your Councillors sessions are a nice way to meet people in their hometown and to have an informal conversation about the Council Plan or any other topic of importance to residents.”

There are nine sessions set for Saturday, 20 February across three time brackets.

Between 9am and 10.30am councilors will be at In the Sticks Café at Avalon Nursery, 41 Kopkes Road, Haddon, Cape Clear General Store, 1479 Scarsdale-Pitfield Road, Cape Clear and Lethbridge General Store, 1 Russell Street, Lethbridge.

From 11am to 12.30pm you’ll find them at Ross Creek General Store, 649 Sebastopol-Smythesdale Road, Ross Creek, Napoleons General Store, 4760 Colac-Ballarat Road, Napoleons and Teesdale General Store, 1071 Bannockburn-Shelford Road, Teesdale.

Lastly they’ll round out the day between 1.30pm and 3pm at Linton Larder, 80 Sussex Street, Linton, Back Creek Café, 1/27 Staughton Street, Meredith and Sonny Café, 15 High Street, Inverleigh.
