Grigoryan brothers play Art Gallery
GUITARISTS, Slava and Leonard Grigoryan who are on the road performing Grigoryan Brothers: Past, Present and Future will make a stop at Art Gallery of Ballarat on Sunday, 18 August.
They are regarded as Australia’s finest classical guitarists, with a repertoire spanning centuries, continents and genres.
Past includes favourite works from their previous recordings, while Present features the brothers playing their own compositions and arrangements including a selection from the recent movie A Boy Called Sailboat.
Future introduces pieces from their next recording project of Handel keyboard suites arranged for them by their father, Edward.
Their father taught both boys how to play and they have collaborated, as well as playing solo, since they were children.
The duo has been touring internationally since 2003 and have recorded 11 albums with the 12th coming out this year.
Between them, they have received three Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) awards and have been nominated 24 times.
