Have a holly-jolly time at Rokewood
IT’S time to Rokewood to get festive with the return of the Community Christmas Party next Sunday, 11 December.
An initiative of Golden Plains Wind Farm, engagement manager Matt Hustwaite said it’s an opportunity for families across the district to come together to celebrate the year, catch up, or meet for the first time, while having some Christmas-themed fun.
“Santa will be there for photos, kids can hop on the jumping castle, we’ll have gifts for them all, face painting and giant bubbles, milkshakes and coffee, a barbecue, and fairy floss,” he said.
“Everything’s free for the community so they can simply enjoy time together and get into the Christmas spirit.
“It’s the second time we’ve done a Christmas party, and last year was a real success, so we’re really looking forward to it.”
Having sought to embedded the company in the broader Rokewood community for a number of years, Mr Hustwaite said wind farm staff are always keen to give back.
“Rokewood is a wonderful, connected, warm and welcoming place. It’s been fantastic to partner with locals through the development of the wind farm, and we just love running events for this community to bring everyone together,” he said.
“Now we’re getting closer to construction, we’re excited to progress to the next stages, and are looking forward to being part of this community for many years to come, beyond the completion of the project.”
The Rokewood Community Christmas Party will run from 11am to 2pm at Rokewood Recreation Reserve on McMillan Street.
