Hawks celebrate games played and finals pushes
WITH the Geelong and District Football Netball League home and away season concluding, Inverleigh FNC has marked individual and team milestones.
As a group the Hawks C and D Grade sides made it to the finals, as did the 13 and under squad with, the senior sides looking to go back-to-back on their 2022 premiership winning runs.
On the individual front several players also notched up games played milestones in season 2023.
They included Georgia Jozwik who registered 100 games, as did Brooke Walters, Jacinta O’Mealley made her 200th appearance in the brown and gold, Lauren Wheeler played her 250th game, Scarlett Finlay- McDonald and Emily Baensch also marked 100, and Beth Long celebrated 150 games played for the Hawks.
The seven players have collectively registered 1000 games for Inverleigh FNC.
On the football field, Inverleigh’s seniors team will also be playing in the post season with a qualifying final match up against Bell Post Hill.
Finals action in the Geelong and District Football Netball League gets underway this weekend and venues across the region.
