Help create mystery mural
STEGLITZ artist Lindy Allinson will be helping create a community mural in Bannockburn this September, using recycled and upcycled items,
The session is designed to allow the community to enjoy colour, laughter, and creativity, with the mural remaining a mystery until all the pieces are put together.
Following its competition, the mural will hang on the wall at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre.
The group making session is suitable for anyone aged 15 and above.
Geelong Regional Libraries CEO Vanessa Schernickau said the event is a great way to support local creatives.
“Part of our aim as a public library service is to help foster resilient communities and people, and support local creatives, and these events are a great way to do that; supporting artists who are doing something a little different,” she said.
“We love seeing people diving in and having a go; no experience is needed.”
The activity is a partnership with the Golden Plains Shire, and mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said The Take Part: Local Art series, of which this session is a part of, have been a great success.
“The overwhelming response with fully booked sessions throughout the year showcases our community’s vibrant enthusiasm for embracing new creative endeavours,” he said.
“The mystery mural led by Lindy Allinson promises to be a fun-filled experience, and we wholeheartedly encourage our community members to jump online and secure their spot.”
The session will take place on Saturday 2 September from 9.30am at the Bannockburn Library.
