GOLDEN Plains Shire is hosting two industry nights for secondary school students and young people.
The sessions are designed to assist community members in understanding potential career prospects.
Each night will include local guest speakers from the construction and trades, and hair and beauty industries.
Training and apprenticeship support advisors will also be available to assist in networking with local businesses.
The sessions will be held at Bannockburn P-12 College from 6pm until 8pm.
The event on Tuesday 19 August will focus on construction and trades while the session on Tuesday 26 August will be centred around hair and beauty.
Attendees will learn about various career pathways within these fields.
“If you’ve been thinking about a career in construction and trades or hair and beauty, these nights are a fantastic opportunity,” said mayor Cr Owen Sharkey.
“Come along and chat with local experts and apprentices to learn about a potential career in these fields.”
“This is a great opportunity to expand your network and hear directly from industry professionals about their experiences in these fields.”
The nights are part of a municipal work readiness program under the Victorian Government’s Engage! Initiative.
To register, visit the Golden Plains Shire website. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information, contact [email protected] or 5220 7111.
