EXPRESSIONS of interest close today, Friday 14 March, for Golden Plains Shire’s Battle of the Bands competition.

The event will be held Saturday 26 April from 1pm until 4pm at Turtle Bend Reserve in Teesdale.

Bands with members aged 12 to 25-years-old from across the Shire are invited to participate and have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience.

The event is presented by the FReeZA Youth Events Crew and supported by the Golden Plains Shire youth development team.

“Over recent years, Battle of the Bands has proven a success with audiences far and wide attending the event,” said mayor Cr Sarah Hayden.

“We’re thrilled to be back in 2025 and providing our young bands the opportunity to perform live.

“I’m thrilled to invite all young musicians aged 12 to 25 to seize this incredible opportunity, and take centre stage to showcase their many sounds, genres and talents.”

The event is funded by FReeZA, a State Government initiative which supports young people in getting involved with the community through drug, smoke, vaping and alcohol-free music and cultural events.

The event is all ages and fully supervised with no pass outs available.
